| I
rushed down dimly lit street only to be met by
a wall of people. They all wanted the same thing,
the same thing as me, to be enveloped in the warm
glow of what was inside. We were like moths drawn
to the flame. The smell of brackish tobacco smoke
and hoards of perfume fluttered around our heads
as we waited. A chilling breeze thought it might
ruin our night but it only left us invigorated.
Nothing would ruin my night, it was rave night. |

Paying
to Vote

Ah,
the off-year elections...these are the elections
politicians love. It's when the people with new
ideas and a "naive" sense of purpose
sit down in resignation instead of stand up to
be counted. The president won't be elected this
year but a lot of senators who will be in office
for 6 years afterwards will. Whether you support
the current government or are pushing for change,
remember that your vote is the only thing you
really get for your taxpayer money. That's right,
count all the things the government has given
you besides parking tickets and speeding tickets
and income tax. Your vote ends up costing you
a hell of a lot and if you don't use it that's
like flushing your money down the toilet.
Off-year elections have a startlingly low turnout
in this country as compared to presidential elections.
In the 2000 election almost 69.5 percent of eligible
citizens were registered to vote. And of those
70 percent, 85.5 percent actually voted (over
120 million). But in 1998, another off-year election,
only 62 percent registered to vote and of those,
only 67 percent actually voted (83 million). In
most states, you've got to register to vote 30
days before the election. October 6th is fast
approaching, so make sure you are registered.
For more info on how to register or check your
registration status, I suggest going to http://www.insuredemocracy.com
and I also suggest you tell all your friends in
case they've forgotten. All you do is print out
a form, fill it out and mail it in. Doh, the government
just made another 37 cents off you, but it was
for a good cause - your opinion! |

Robotech

When
I first heard news of Robotech
Battle Cry in production years ago I was awe
struck. Some of you may have played some robotech
games for various console systems throughout the
years, but did you enjoy them? I really didn't.
I'm pretty sure that will all change when R:BC
is released. I was a bit surprised and thankful
that the designers are using cell art similar
to the old show from the 80's. This will give
a grand sense of reminisce of actually being in
the cartoon. Another nice addition is the actor
voices. I can imagine hearing Lisa Hayes lay down
the air space regulations and Roy Fokker training
in the tutorial. Now if I could only be Rand in
the third generation and reach reflex point. Sigh.

| Sometimes
I wonder about those girls that come to hang out
with us. Some of them end up sitting around and
talking to each other most of the time. Every
time I have an itching desire to ask them what
they get out of this whole thing. I mean none
of us ever has sex with any of them, what else
do they want? So when I'm about to ask them, I
stop and ponder if that's such a good thing to
do. What if they get offended when I ask "Excuse
me, ..... |

Hey
you
Out there on the road
Always doing what you're told
Can you help me?
Hey you
Out there beyond the wall
Breaking bottles in the hall
Can you help me?
Hey you
Don't tell me there's no hope at all
Together we stand, divided we fall

So you think youre free, huh? You think
you are Mr. Young Democrat Capitalist Boy, with
the world on your plate and a universe of opportunities
ahead of you. Your whole life is ahead of you,
you can make a career, get rich, have a wife,
have some kids, you CAN live the American Dream(no
matter what part of the world you live in). And
as you pull yourself away from the TV commercials
that tell you that, yes, you too can be popular
with white teeth and super-modern jeans(all for
a oh-so-low price of $39.95), you snap out your
fantasy and realize that if you dont leave
now youre going to be late for work again(how
you hate that deep-fryer); your bitch boss is
going to kick you out and youre going to
have to spend another eternity looking for a piece-of-shit
wage-slave job(after all, you need money for booze
and drugs). |

| Imagine
waking up one day and its the end. You are witnessing
the end of life. What do you do? What have you
done? It's then you've wasted your life. Done
nothing you wanted to do with it. Your existence
is to become null in a matter of seconds. And
there is nothing you can do to stop it.
