lol... The release date is finally here and I will be picking up my copy shortly (shoulda done it last night at midnight, damnit). Do any of you guys have it yet? I'm itching for some feedback. I can't go get it right now because my car is at the dealership, so I'm waiting for a friend to pick me up and take me to Best Buy. Arrgghh!!
I'm actually a bit worried that I will like it less than I did the first one. Hopefully that's not the case; I just don't want to be let down. ... [Read More] |

New MechWarrior (hard workin title)

I know some of you jumped in mechs back in around 2000, but since then there has been nothing. 10 years now? 10 years of no stompin around in 50-100 foot mechs blastin and firing missiles at whatever the mission required. Lets not forget the mech to mech combat in urban sprawl.
Some of you have probably already heard about the new mechwarrior in production by Piranha. Either way, allow me to enlighten a load on your face.

Did anyone have to make one of these things as a kid?
My son is a cub scout in a new troop that doesn't have it's shit together yet (read: clueless), and they sprung this on us late last week and said the race was the 30th.
'No problem,' I thought. 'I'll help him put some wheels on the thing, paint it, and we'll be done.'
Wrong! Apparently this is a pretty big deal. You have to... [Read More] |

Nearby Supernova Could Destroy Life on Earth.

From Popular Science:
The star is part of a binary system of two stars -- a white dwarf that leaches mass off its sun-like neighbor -- called T Pyxidis, located in the southern part of the constellation Pyxis, also known as "The Compass Box." The system is known as a recurrent nova because it has been subjected to repeated novas over the last century, suffering (relatively) small thermonuclear explosions in 1890, 1902, 1920, 1944 and 1967, or nearly every twenty years.

So apparently Gilliam is going in for a second round on this project. The last attempt was an epic fail, but hopefully he can get more support should Insaniarum succeed... BTW, check out Man of La Mancha, making of the first one.
Still unclear if Depp is in it as Sancho Pansa, some news sites scream yes http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/n...n-quixote.html, others... [Read More] |

COPTER TITAN TOURNEY
so far for the copter tourny we have:
Rob [Stupid] - Tourney Creator and current high score champion of copter.
[spike] - rumors are that spike hates this game, but other sources claim there is lingering bitterness towards copters over the loss of colin mcrea or someone like that.
Kodo - Hasn't... [Read More] |

Trip to Zugspitze

Some people from my unit went to Garmish for a 3 day retreat. I'd never skiied or snowboarded, and my lady talked me into trying it, even though she never had either.
It cost about 130$ all together, and I was really reluctant about the whole thing until we started in the taxi towards the base of the mountain. Zugspitze was about 1 1/2 hrs from the resort we stayed at, so we took a 20 min taxi ride, and around an hour on rail cars getting up to the peak....I didn't take too many... [Read More] |
